Funding: Started as a research project at UCLA in partnership with Community Health Project Los Angeles and other syringe services programs, Drug Checking Los Angeles is now supported by funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Overdose Data 2 Action: LOCAL program in partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.  The portable spectrometers were purchased thanks to a generous gift to the UCLA AIDS Institute by the James B. Pendleton Charitable Trust.
